International Space Olympiad is a door to the world of limitless knowledge about the space and space explorations, for the students from class 5 to class 12 and to encourage young talented minds with amazing prizes who excel in the Olympiad in different programs including workshops, quizzes and many other informative and innovative sessions handled by eminent personalities in the field of space science. It’s much about inspiring the young aspirants to dream bigger and to channel their interests in space science into the right track where they really belong to.

 Space science has been grown in to a great field of importance and India is achieving heights with a pace never before. Students are the future of any nation and it’s only through the nurturing of young talents, India can achieve higher. International Space Olympiad is a venture by Edu Mithra Intellectual Services to enhance the students with interest in space science and researches, to figure out the young talents from them and to encourage them with amazing prices.

International Space Olympiad: Through the Years

International Space Olympiad 2015

International Space Olympiad 2015 was greatly appreciated by students and Students from India and all over the world took part in International Space Olympiad 2015 it was well accepted by students. We are very much enthusiastic about ISO as we are getting great appreciations and feedbacks and queries about its next season.

The national levels of ISO 2015 was organized with the association of Department of Physics, Cochin University of science and Technology (CUSAT), Kerala in January 2015. International space Olympiad 2015 was recently conducted at Kerala science and technology museum and Priyadarshini planetarium, Trivandrum, Kerala. It was a great success in terms of participation and acceptance by the student and parent communities all over India and Abroad

Apart from the competition and prizes, the event focused on nurturing the talents and interests of young aspirants. The participants were gifted with a never before opportunity of meeting and interacting with Padmashree Dr. M Chandradathan, Former Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Trivandrum.  Dr. M Chandradathan is one of the legends of the field of space science and explorations with a career full of great experiences, achievements and honours. He is a renowned Chemical Engineer with accomplishments in Space technology mainly in the field of propulsion and solid motors. With the career started in 1972, He has made significant contributions in the development and realisation of rocket nozzles mainly for solid motors. With the experience of over forty three years, he has played a key role in many of the space missions of India. The nation honoured him with Padma Shri award in 2014. He is also the recipient of the ‘Individual Service Award’ of ISRO in 2006, ‘Outstanding Chemical Engineer’ Award of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers in 2009 and ‘Performance Excellence Award’ of ISRO in 2009. 

The quiz was mastered by handled by Prof. Anand Narayanan , Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology (IIST) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He has a doctorate degree in astronomy & astrophysics from the Pennsylvania State University and has worked as a scientist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s astronomy department. His research interests are in understanding the physical properties of intergalactic medium and galaxy halos. Since 2010, he is with the IIST

Biyon Sony Joseph from Loyola School bagged the first prize in the International Space Olympiad 2015 and Varna Jose from St Mary’s Convent School and Aaron John Sabu from St Thomas Central School, came second and third respectively.
